Punch
Hook
The hook is a bent-arm punch that travels sideways, typically with the lead hand, targeting the side of the head or body. It's a knockout punch because it lands on angles opponents don't see coming.
How to do it
- 1Keep the elbow bent at roughly 90 degrees.
- 2Rotate the hips and pivot the lead foot.
- 3Swing the arm level, turning the fist as you connect.
- 4Return tight to guard — never drop the hand after.
Common mistakes
- Swinging with a loose, wide arm.
- Forgetting to pivot the foot.
- Dropping the opposite hand.
